Wire Coil Annealing
LOI Italimpianti offers the most important heat treatment systems for annealing rolled and drawn wire:
- bell-type annealing furnaces
- roller hearth furnaces (continuous)
- roller hearth furnaces (discontinuous)
- systems for solution annealing of stainless steel wire
The atmosphere used in this cases range from nitrogen as protective gas, to gas mixtures, to pure hydrogen. Depending on the intended use, reactive gases are also used.
In recent years, bell-type annealing systems in particular have become established in the market. They offer the greatest possible flexibility at the lowest investment costs.
Continuous roller hearth furnaces with a protective gas atmosphere are very popular especially among rolled-wire producers with a high annual output. While the investment costs are higher than for bell-type annealing systems with a comparable annual output, their advantages are that they are easier to operate, do not require as high a room height, and turn out material of excellent quality.
The semi-continuous roller hearth furnaces embody the roller hearth technology and process combined with the flexibility of a bell-type annealing system. They are operated with a reactive atmosphere. > more information
